BEARS!!

Now that we have your attention....

The bees of the Bent Creek Honey Company aren't the only ones sneaking into your yard these days. While we obviously love and focus on keeping honeybees happy and healthy, we wanted to give a few tips for living happily in bear country.  Our furry neighborhood mascots are out and about in full force throughout Bent Creek and the surrounding area. So ask yourself, are you living Bearwise?

What is Bearwise, and why should I be bothered?

Because at Bent Creek Honey we love bears almost as much as we love bees and know that the only way to keep them, and our community safe and healthy is to keep bears wild.  That starts with living Bearwise in our own homes.  Bearwise is a program that helps landowners, businesses, and communities to coexist with bears.

How can I live Bearwise?

Bearwise has a ton of information available to the public and it's absolutely free. You should definitely check out the Bearwise website, but since you're already here we'll give you the low-down on some Bearwise Basics:

  1. Never feed or approach bears
  2. Secure food, garbage, and recycling
  3. Remove bird feeders when bears are active
  4. Never leave pet food outdoors
  5. Clean and store grills and smokers
  6. Alert neighbors to bear activity

About Us

As Local As It Gets

The bees of Bent Creek took something from your yard....and made delicious honey out of it! Since 2018, the bees of Bent Creek Honey have been working together to bring you the most natural, most local honey you could possibly ask for!  All of our honey comes from bees raised right here in Bent Creek on Shackleford Drive.

Thanks for another great year!

This has been a FANTASTIC year for the bees to make honey!  As a result, we are loaded with mixed-blossom local mountain honey that comes from plants such as tulip poplar, blackberry, locust, and of course, SOURWOOD! We have 1-lb and 2-lb squeeze bottles of honey ready to deliver around the neighborhood.  If you'd like a different size or have your own bottle you'd like filled...just ask!

Bent Creek Honey is still a small hive, but we're happy to provide the most local honey you could ask for in a variety of sizes.
